The stratigraphy at Pincevent

Stratigraphie de Pincevent
5481

The stratigraphic sequence at Pincevent revealed several Magdalenian camps spread out over approximately one century. Analysis of faunal remains on each of these camps showed that the Magdalenians hunted a variety of species. For a long time it was considered that reindeer was the primary resource used by the Magdalenians in the Paris Basin. However, evidence from several occupations at Pincevent showed us that horses were also widely hunted.
