Shaping the core primarily took place near the outdoor hearths. The most experienced knappers produced their blades in habitation U5 and nearby. Simpler and clumsier flint items were produced in both habitations and near most of the outdoor hearths. This indicates that children practised knapping throughout the camp, probably next to competent adult knappers.
