Location of the horse’s neck

After the Magdalenians abandoned occupation D71-1, a horse’s neck was left inside the circle of stones surrounding the hearth. The few centimetres of sediment that separated the vertebrae from the hearth below show the amount of time that had passed between the departure of D71-1’s inhabitants and this mysterious gesture.
