The Latin states of the Near East included the County of Edessa (founded by Tancred), the Principality of Antioch, the County of Tripoli (founded by Raymond IV or Raymond of Saint Gilles, leader of a regiment of Crusaders from Toulouse), and the Kingdom of Jerusalem.
