Doubiyeh castle was the subject of a French archaeological mission (2011-2016) led by Cyril Yovitchitch. Introducing technologies such as photogrammetry and 3D modelling, the mission took a markedly different approach to this site. British researchers had been the last to study it in the late 19^th century.
