The entrance to the gallery is covered by calcite over a few metres, then the floor becomes soft clay, which still shows the traces of bear prints and scattered bone remains. In the centre of the chamber, a stalagmite shaped like a cactus gives the chamber its name. It formed after the departure of Palaeolithic humans
