Gours of the Red Panels Gallery

Gours de la galerie des Panneaux Rouges
10924

The entrance to the gallery appears as a floor entirely covered with gours. Regularly underwater, they owe their orange colour to runoff over the red clay, which is rich in iron oxides. This deposit, which occurred after human circulation, is gradually fossilising the archaeological floors.
