The Chauvet-Pont d'Arc cave

Discovered on Sunday 18 December 1994 by Jean-Marie Chauvet, Éliette Brunel and Christian Hillaire during a private speleological exploration, the Chauvet-Pont d'Arc cave is one of the oldest decorated Palaeolithic caves in the world.

Professor of Biogeology at the University of Tübingen in Germany.

His research is related to the reconstitution of Palaeolothic landscapes based on the study of isotopes present in bones, with a special interest in hominoids and humans. He was the first person to decodify the diet of Neanderthals.
